The Great Lakes Comic-Con has been in the Metro-Detroit area since 2010. We focus our events on comic books, toy collecting, and nostalgia, as opposed to creating pop culture events - as other conventions are doing these days. So, things that you will see and experience at the Great Lakes Comic-Con each year will have some connection to collecting comic books and toys.
We pride ourselves in bringing top industry talent to the Metro-Detroit area for each of our February Comic Conventions. We also try to bring something unique to all of our events - whether it's creating an overall event theme, providing high value comic book prizes, having an authorized/certified signing event, or hosting rare stamp unveilings based on comic book characters/movies.
The Great Lakes Comic-Con hosts 4 events annually.
The first is called the Great Lakes Comic-Con (GLCC) - held annually in February at Macomb Community College, South Campus, Sports and Expo Center. This event is structured to be a large/regional comic book and collecting event.
The other three are called The Great Lakes Comic Expo, or GLCX - (the Summer Expo/July, the Fall Expo/October, and the Holiday Expo/December) - all of which have the look and feel of a smaller/local collector's show.
Each event has its own theme and philanthropy.
